The Public Forum is in the sixth year of this event. It is an annual function of the Hamilton/Burlington Chronic Pain Support Group and is held each year in November during National Pain Awareness Week. Past years have attracted 80-100 people, largely those impacted by chronic pain. Those in attendance include people suffering with chronic pain, their families and friends, health care professionals working in the area of pain and people from various walks of life.
The event is held to provide a meeting for those who suffer chronic pain and to promote awareness of the personal and societal impact of chronic pain. The programme includes speakers who present on various aspects of chronic pain. Past speakers include two people who have found various ways to accommodate their lives to chronic pain as well as a lawyer who has recently won a $3.5 million decision for a client who developed chronic pain following an accident in a hospital. Past speakers have also addressed other topics of interest to those who live with pain, including natural foods, herbal medicines, alternative therapies, Tai-Chi exercises, massage therapy, dance etc.

Chronic Pain PUBLIC FORUM 2016 will be held at Seniors’ Centre, 2285 New Street (in Central Park), Burlington from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m on Sunday, 5 November, 2016.

Event is open to the Public – No Fee
